I love Autumn, primarily because it ushers us ever closer to my favorite season, Winter. Yay for possible but won’t really snow!!! So, if you follow the blog you know I decorate our Friendsgiving table ever year. I try to keep it fresh by staying away from the typical Thanksgiving reds, oranges, and browns. And you won’t see a hand turkey on any of my tables.
I always start with a practice table. Thank God we just bought a fabulous new farm table so I go to try it out with some style. I used our random Delft-esk china plates with my World Market cups. It went over well so I stuck with the plan.
First I switched to black paper plates. I know dishes are always more stunning, but when you are expecting over 50 friends that clean up is just not feasible. The color scheme was mixed metals (gold, silver, and mercury), natural green, white, and purple.
I always like a little something fresh on the table to I made a large leaf garland…I should really do a garland making post, white hydrangeas, and purple hanging amaranth. I sprayed the pumpkins and put some on mercury stands. Simple…right?
Of course I added a little quote to each place setting with a hand made wreath. “Gratitude is the sign of noble souls”-Aesop
The finished product was just want I wanted and the evening was filled with food and love.
