As a result of my completely over scheduled life I have to plan a fun or meaningful activity every day. Friday, I saw the space shuttle. Yippee for nerds!!!
Saturday, I was a panelist in a discussion about religion and politics-not fun for everyone. Crazy exciting for me. The room was completely full by the time everything started, a little scary.
Sunday, I went shopping near the beach and bonded with my little sis.
Monday, I saved a man’s life on the freeway. Well, all I did was pay attention and call the police. That wasn’t fun, but it was meaningful.
Tuesday, I shared in political bliss with a fellow politico while watching the much anticipated second presidential debate.
Wednesday, I spent time with a dear friend. We laughed and rappers and munched on apples and pretzels. Random!!! But that’s my life!
Today, was simple and basic, a good book, chocolate chip scone, and a cappuccino.
My challenge to you dear readers, is to notice the fun in your life. As you chronicle your daily adventures the difficult moments will seem more manageable and the awesomeness of your life will shine through.
I try to keep my blog fashionable not political. But I can’t stay away from our amazingly stylish first lady. Look at those pants; she’s a phenom, beautiful, intelligent, and knows a good ensemble when she sees one.
I am such a sucker for an amazing hair style and as a natural girl myself I always love when women go natural for formal events. The first step to a breathtaking natural look is a good cut. Curly hair falls very differently than straight hair thus needs a special kind of trim. Next, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. As I mentioned in a post some time back I use mayonnaise or eggs as a pretreatment. Then I rinse them out then use Argon oil and a leave in cholesterol. Also, ladies don’t wash your hair every day, the biggest enemy of natural hair is breakage. Wash about 2-3 times a week at the most. I hope these little tips are helpful.
When you think United Colors of Benetton you think of minimalist colorful clothes and controversial ads. Well, ladies and gentlemen, yet again UCB is making some enemies with their newest ad campaign for Unhate. The ads feature world leaders waving their unhate flags while in warm embrace, lip locks baby! They feature our own President Obama getting it on with Hugo Chavez and Hu Jintao (seperate pictures, they’re not that kinky), Kim Jong-il smooching Lee Myung-bak, and Angela Merkel loving Nicolas Sarkozy down. The Unhate campaign is all about increasing tolerance and communication on a global level. This ad definately has us communicating in fact it’s made some just pain uncomfortable.
Uncomfortable yet? It’s rare that people are motivated into action when they are comfortable, so let this discomfort propel you into a state of action. Get uncomfortable C&C readers…you don’t have to Unhate but do something to better the world around you.
Michelle Obama is so beautiful…Happy 19th anniversary to the first couple.
It’s never fashionable to throw a temper tantrum during negotiations. Tisk, tisk, tisk, Boehner. Always keep your wits about you!
