No fail, every time my friend Mike comes in town from China-his second home-he has some amazing new fashion toy for me to play with. Last time it was a new addition to his, ever growing, glasses collection, the time before that a prototype iPad case from his line Mbarqgo, check them out. Or prototypes of bags to come, that’s my favorite part, getting to take part in future trends. This time it was his, self designed, wool cashmere blend pea coat; his play on a stylish letterman jacket. The detachable rabbit collar was my detail of choice. Yowzas, I love a man in a well designed coat. Oh how I love my taste making friends…everyone needs at least one in their lives and I’m blessed by my riches.
After collecting my uber busy friend from LAX airport we had a sit down about creativity and work. Yes, this is what me and my friends talk about, productivity. He is the CEO and founder of a bag line, Mbarqgo, and spends much of his time in Brazil and China. Beyond his creative genius I was enthralled by his personal style. Shoes, check, couture jeans, check, bag strapped to his left leg, check, and iPad case by Mbarqgo, double check.
Being that these highly desirable objects were all either strapped to his person or too big for me, I earnestly tried to “borrow” these frames purchased in a boutique in France.
I almost made them mine. Oh how I love good friends.
Most of my friends are pretty stylish but I have two that always astound me. Jesse and Mike own a bag label, Mbarqgo, and have all their clothes made by a tailor in China. Oh, and did I mention they are fluent in Mandarin? Yea, they are definitely something special. Jesse’s ensemble was overall amazing from his very well stitched, fitted grey skinny jeans, to his Mbarqgo belt, bow tie, tailor made jacket and shirt. However, my favorite detail was that he managed to have his name embossed on ever button.
Mike wore a tailor made short suit with amazing plaid lining- not pictured – a four buttoned vest in a slightly darker grey (nice touch), and of couse his case, the newest product from Mbarqgo. He literally brought it back from their factory like a week ago. Two details stood out from this ensemble; first, was the plaid liner I didn’t get a picture of (bad blogging) and second, was his third pocket. I’m a little obsessed with those. Gotta love men that pay attention to details.
