Compartmentalization is an important task for any business owner. I fight daily to keep the events in my life in cute tiny little boxes. This may sound a little neurotic but managing multiple brand identities, challenges of a 9-5, family, and the HOLIDAYS, things can get hectic. So, I’m seeking some order by making some pretty bento inspired boxes for my lunch. Gotta start somewhere.
I found these uber cute boxes at the Container Store. That place is my idea of heaven…so organized, so beautiful.
Then on to my second favorite place in the world, Michaels, to get some waistband elastic. I just happened to find this stunning silver elastic.
I did some rudimentary measurements.
Then hand stiched.
Easiest DIY of the year. 2016 was exciting can’t wait to see what 2017 will bring!
The little tiny hungry girl inside of me couldn’t let this moment pass quietly into the night. I LOOOVE macaroons! They are just so simple a chic. Truly the perfect snack.
And if you like macaroons then you have to get them from Bottega Louie. It is downtown LA’s little window into delicious French snackerie…yup snackerie, I made that up.
I mean look at this absolute perfection. Packaging isn’t just about putting a great product in a box. It’s about creating and tapping into the emotions of consumers. A lot of thought and research goes into creating these iconic designs. Different colors evoke different feelings, some may even make you want to purchase more goodies. I think that’s the goal.
Pink is the color of gentleness and love and evokes feelings of calm. It doesn’t make me hungry but since it’s my favorite color it encourages me to buy, buy, buy. Some of the effects of color are due to personal factors and preferences but there are definitely effects that impact all of us. It’s just evolution baby! For example, colors like red and orange get our attention because they have historically signaled danger. Thus, stop lights and road cones.
I’m so sure you didn’t sign up for this little lesson in color theory, you just wanted to look at pictures of macaroons. But now that I’m done forcing you to learn some random information, go and see how colors make you feel today. Ciao!
Judith Leiber‘s done it again, she’s covered yet another decadent confection in crystals. If you’ve never heard of Judith Leiber I’m sure you are familiar with the amazing crystal cupcake purse from Sex and the City, yes delish! These little dandies are macaroon pill boxes inspired by the tasty pastry. I don’t know about you, but I actually need a pill box, with all the daily supplements I take carrying all those bottles becomes quite unfashionable. This is an answer to prayers. Thanx New York Times for keeping us always up to date!
This is one of my favorite dessert stops in all of LA. BOTTEGA LOUIE has every goodie from rainbow sprinkle pretzels to coffee tarts, and their macaroons, to die for!!!
Since I’ve been gone so long here’s a few pictures that make me smile.
