Today, my craft couch was filled with crafting awesomeness. The focus of my creativity was a guilders pillow. This pillow is more than a comfy cozy little golden nugget. It’s the first item in our Gentry and Hicks Home collection. There should be a give away in our future.
Who doesn’t love a gold pillow? I would also love for everyone to embrace my tiger (I didn’t make the tiger one).
Here are the new labels we just got. Get ready for Gentry and Hicks Home. No longer just lotion.
I’ve been a crafter since I could pick up scissors. Glue was never a delicious snack, every precious drop went onto a card or decoupage. Yup I decoupaged as a kid, then it was just paper mâché. But I’ve always said “why buy something you can make?” …or get someone else to make. Even my skirt in the picture is made by a friend, Natalie Weech. Why give money to huge corporations when either myself or someone I know can do just as good?
Since I craft so much, I simply must do it in a cozy space. No chairs and tables for me. It’s all about my craft couch.
I cut and sew things on my craft couch.
I get goofy on my craft couch.
I paint on my craft couch. That gets a little risky but it happens. Probably to the chagrin of my significant other.
I eat delicious foods.
I even take pictures of food. Hope you recognize this from my IG. It’s white chocolate kettle corn with rainbow sprinkles.
Now you know my secret. I craft while wearing tutus, sitting on my couch, watching documentaries. The tutu actually doesn’t happen normally I look totally crazy!
If you are anything like me you love all things tech. But the downside of technology are all of the infuriating cords. I’ve been trying to tape them, tuck them, hide them in those little cord hiders. Nothing worked. I was exhausted. Then I stumbled upon the answer.
This was our cord situation. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Ugh, horrible!!!
First I had to pick up some supplies. Some large binder clips from Staples, some AJB washers from Home Depot and some random screws that I had lying around the house. Make sure your screws aren’t so long that they break through your desk.
Fold the binder clip back.
Put the washer on the inside of the furthest silver handle.
Then add your screw. You will screw this under the desk. Make sure you put them in the right places so they can securely hold all of your cords.
Once they are screwed in tight you can clamp all of your cords down. I used about 6. Some under the desk and some on the back.
The final product is a much more clean and organized space and under $10. Finally!!!
